Background
The Norwegian Refugee Council is an international, independent, humanitarian, nongovernmental organization that provides assistance to refugeesโ and internally displaced people in many countries worldwide including Libya. As a part of its assistance, NRC provides information, counselling and legal assistance (ICLA) services to empower beneficiaries and support them to claim and exercise their rights. - Role and responsibilitiesย
Generic responsibilitiesย
The ICLA Technical Assistant will provide information, counselling and assistance to internally displaced persons (IDPs). This will encompass, in particular:ย
- Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
Accounting for the particularities of the job location and context, the Technical Assistant will be responsible for:ย
Stays updated regarding internal procedures and thematic guidelines, Delivers individual and group information sessions (GIS) and individual counselling on various topics including legal and civil documentation, housing, land and property rights and work rights, Ensures protection mainstreaming in field activities, including identification of cases for protection referrals, Undertakes day to day data collection and data entry related to field activities and participates in field mapping exercises, Meetings with international, national and governmental actors working on legal and education access issues for refugees and migrants when required and as instructed by the line manager and project management, Oversight of referrals to local aid organizations both national and international, Ensuring that partner organisations fully comply with agreed case management and client handling procedures, Supporting the ICLA officer and TL in the oversight of volunteer workers, maintaining attendance sheets and coordinating with NRC support colleagues on processing of payments, Conduct regular post service monitoring exercises for ICLA services, Any other task relevant to the position as requested by the line manager.ยCritical interfaces:ย
