NRCโ€™s Education Core Competency is currently implementing projects focused on support to formal education and nonformal literacy, numeracy and vocational classes including teacher training, construction of temporary learning spaces, community mobilization and training for school-based management councils with funding from ECHO, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Education Cannot Wait and UNICEF. ย 

We are looking for people who are passionate about helping refugees and people forced to flee. The Education Project Manager is responsible for the effective implementation of the NRC education portfolio at the area level, and represents NRC at coordination forums, as delegated by the Area Manager. This position is a key member of the Area Management Group.ย 

If you are those people, the Norwegian Refugee Council in Nigeria is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Education Project Manager to join our team in Maiduguri, Borno State. You will be responsible for the effective implementation of the NRC education portfolio at the area level, and represents NRC at coordination forums, as delegated by the Area Manager. This position is a key member of the Area Management Group.ย 

Provide regular progress reports on activities, spending, procurement and staffing to the Area ManageRepresent NRC in sectorial coordination, emergency meetings, clusters and/or working group at the area levelCarry out progress review meetings for ongoing projectsImplement the programme ensuring high quality and cost efficiency targeting the programme participants who are the most in needSupport the Education Specialist on the development of proposals, concept notes and contextualization of activities and materialsEnsure regular site visits to ensure that projects are implemented in a timely manner and adapted to local needsCarry out training needs assessments and systematically build the capacity of education staff at the area level to ensure quality implementationApply protection and prevention mechanisms in all project activities and interactions to ensure the safety and well-being of staff and programme participantsEnsure that the NRC resources are used in accordance with the humanitarian principles in the area.
