The WFP Southern Africa Regional Bureau is committed to adhering to WFP Assurance Standards and to strengthen performance through evidence-building. Under the direct guidance and supervision of the Regional Monitoring Adviser and in close collaboration with other Regional Units, the CST will be responsible for the underlisted responsibilities.
Support the implementation of the Regional Monitoring strategy 2022 -2025, particularly in line with two priority areas โ Data Visualisation and Data Analysis, with the overall aim to increased utilization of evidence for strategic and programme decision-making;
Support the Regional Monitoring Advisor in ensuring that Country Offices monitoring systems and tools are in place and compliant with corporate standards including the minimum monitoring requirements (MMR), WFP assurance standards and establishment of baselines and targets in alignment with the updated corporate results framework.
Provide oversight and guidance to Country Offices in establishment of functioning Community Feedback Mechanisms, in line with WFP assurance standards.
Ahead of Executive Board meetings, prepare quarterly regional reports on beneficiary and transfer figures; prepare annual analysis of regional outcome trends.
Conduct bi-annual analysis of the corporate Assessment, Monitoring and Evaluation ''tool'', with a focus on planning, budgeting and assessing funding gaps in evidence generation in the region.
Support the Regional Advisor in organizing and delivering regional remote and in-person Monitoring/CFM meetings and thematic webinars.
In close collaboration with the RB reporting unit, conduct technical review of Annual Country Reports for annual monitoring of programme performance across the region.
Prepare quarterly reports on the implementation of Evaluation Recommendations across the region.
Any other duty assigned that are within the scope of Evidence Generation and Monitoring.
Education
Advanced University degree in social sciences, political science, statistics, development economics, performance management.
Knowledge & Skills:
As least three years of relevant post-graduated work experience. Previous experience working in Southern Africa and Country Office is a plus.
Knowledge and previous experience in monitoring and community feedback mechanisms. Relevant knowledge of evidence generation processes.
Strong data analysis skills and experience in using statistical software (Stata, SPSS).
Strong data visualization skills, including knowledge of Tableau Analytics and other relevant applications (e.g.: web-based databases,) to organize, analyze, share and use of monitoring data.
Strong communication skills (oral and written).
Ability to draft clear and succinct reports.
Quick to learn, able to take initiative.
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
Self-confidence and creativity.
Languages:
Fluency in English Language is required. Intermediate knowledge of French is a plus.
