THE OPPORTUNITY
Plan International is currently implementing a three-year project called, Systems Approach for Ensuring Online Safety and Empowerment of Children and Young People (SAFE ONLINE). The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the empowerment and protection of children and young people against online sexual exploitation of children (OSEC) and online violence.
In line with this project, Plan International invites competent, experienced, and committed professionals to fill the following position.
The Community Development Facilitator will mobilize the targeted communities to identify problems and possible interventions as well as facilitate their participation towards project ownership. The project needs three community development facilitators, each role will lead a specific target or focus, namely: 1.) Civil Society Organization (CSO) Capacity Building Lead, 2.) Private Sector Lead, and 3.) Community-Based Child Protection Mechanisms (CBCPM) Lead.
Specifically, the Community Development Facilitator - Private Sector Lead will fulfill a leading role to collect and exchange lessons learned technical/ knowledge and experiences for improved implementation of private sector-related activities.
Further, as the Community Development Facilitator:
You will conduct awareness-raising and facilitate capacity-building activities for children and youth (CAY), women, civil society organizations (CSO), private sector actors, and child protection system actors, including parents/ caregivers and communities against online sexual exploitation against children and online violence. You will facilitate the strengthening of existing alert platforms with Local Government Units (LGUs) and tech and media firms to improve reporting mechanisms. You will facilitate advocacy and dialogue to address Online Sexual Exploitation of Children (OSEC)/online violence with relevant private sector actors and policymakers. You will facilitate the development of an Annual Performance Progress Report (APPR) with stakeholders at the barangay and municipal levels including children. You will identify and train community volunteers to initiate and participate actively in community development work.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
To be successful in the role you will need among other things:
Bachelorโs Degree in Social Work, Community Development, Social Science, and other related courses. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in community development, community organizing, and implementing projects that are related to children and youth. Has relevant knowledge and experience on childโs rights, child protection, and awareness of issues related to gender-based violence or child exploitation and abuse. Previous work experience in a similar role or in a non-government organization/s is an advantage. Good verbal communication skills and the ability to relate to people from all backgrounds. Applicants must be based in the Philippines and a Filipino national.

This role is required to do fieldwork in the covered project area.
