The Opportunity
The P&C Operation Manager is responsible for the day-to-day P&C operational functions and their performance in accordance with PIE policies and procedures. S/he provide hands-on support. Guidance and advice to staff and managers in operationalizing P&C policies and procedures. S/he has a responsibility to follow-up issues around employee relation, grievance and disciplinary case, Work place safeguarding, employee safety, Coordinate department audit. Under the supervision of Head of P and C, the incumbent is responsible in providing effective and efficient P&C service to the programmes, optimize the P&C functions. The job holder will be the focal person for programme Area P&C representatives and shall work in close collaboration with the Programme Area /Emergency Response Mangers when it comes to performance management and training and development need for the Area P&C representative.
S/he will also be expected to work in collaboration with colleagues within the department to operationalize the organizationโs P&C initiatives, polices, practices run smoothly and contribute to a healthy work environment by ensuring the P&C polices, guideline, practices reach ground and understood and implemented by PIE Staff.
The Individual
- A BA/Masterโs Degree in Human resources or related field.
- 7 years of relevant experience in INGO Sector or demonstrated equivalent combination which at least 3 years in managerial position with NGOs
- Maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of Ethiopia Labour law and regulations.
- Proven experiences and ability to coordinate and collaborate with different departments.
- Ability to negotiate, advocate and influence effectively at all levels of the Country Office and outside of line management relationships.
- Experience in leading team, coaching and mentoring

Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)
- Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan Internationalโs Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
- Ensures that Programme Area P&C and staff under this unit are properly inducted on and understands their role in upholding Plan Internationalโs safeguarding and GEI policies;
- Ensures that Plan Internationalโs global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day to day work.
- Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan Internationalโs global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
