About this position

We are looking for a dynamic and innovative Treasury and Risk Senior Specialist with strong finance background and solid cat risks products knowledge and experience to cover IDB sovereign guarantee borrowers, with primarily focus on the development and marketing of cat risk/climate change products for those sovereign clients.

You will have a senior role within the Treasury Client Solution Group (TRY/TCS), part of the Finance Department.

What you’ll do:

Help the marketing effort of our outstanding menu of products to mitigate the effects of natural disasters to our sovereign borrowers. Develop new cat risk/climate change products and come up with solutions to accommodate the needs of our sovereign clients, not being covered by our current offer. In the development of new products, work in close partnership with the technical teams that the Bank already has. Provide client coverage for Latin American borrowers across all our FFF debt management products (interest rate fixings, local currency conversions, commodity hedges, etc). Keep ongoing dialogue with reinsurance companies and develop new dialogues with potential investors of cat bonds, as another avenue to transfer cat risk. Help/Lead the internal discussions and full approval process of these new products with the different teams withing the Bank (Legal, Risk, Accounting, Valuation, Back Office). Provides mentorship and technical work guidance to more junior staff within the team on these new cat risk/climate change products.

What you'll need

Education: MBA or equivalent degree in Finance, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. Experience: A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in similar positions. The ideal candidate will have proven knowledge of cat risk/climate change products and expertise working for Latin America. Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

Requirements

Type of contract and duration

International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
