THE OPPORTUNITY
In the last four years, Plan International Philippines has been implementing interventions to support marginalized young people from urban poor communities by increasing their participation in civil society and governance processes so that they are able to provide input in setting local policy.
Building on the lessons and good practices from previous projects, Plan International is implementing a project focused on developing and designing a gender-transformative urban program on disaster risk reduction and management through participatory action research and baseline data gathering involving community and key stakeholders, particularly women, young people, other marginalized groups, and the local government units.
Community members including the youth, particularly young women, will be guided to become innovators and will identify the most applicable solutions to increase the capacity of the community. The innovations will focus on disaster risk reduction and mitigation activities, particularly in creating safe places and ensuring the protection of children.
In line with this project, Plan International invites competent, experienced, and committed professionals to fill the following position.
The Training Officer will support the urban disaster risk reduction portfolio in enhancing the training design and materials used to standardize its delivery and content.
Further, as the Training Officer:
- You will assist in the preparation of the training through the preparation of visibilities, presentations, and training materials.
- You will lead in the processing of logistical requests and tracking the delivery of requested services or products.
- You will facilitate pre and post-test and after-action reviews of the training/s held.
- You will work with relevant partners to agree on participant selection criteria and the training needs assessment for the participants.
- You will initiate and participate in strategic visioning of collaborative efforts among partners and associates.
- Plan International is a development and humanitarian organization. In exceptional cases, you will be asked to support emergency response activities in the communities in your assigned covered areas.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
To be successful in the role you will need among other things:
- Bachelorโs degree holder.
- With at least one (1) year of work experience in managing/conducting training and education of youth.
