FHI 360 has an exciting internship opportunity for a student interested in growing their skills within the international development sector. Under close supervision, an Intern will perform entry level professional duties which will provide the opportunity for professional training in various functional areas throughout the organization. Internship assignments serve to offer practical experience and broad exposure to a global nonprofit development organization.
The Technology Architecture and Planning (TAP) team is responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating our enterprise architecture and supporting portfolios. We provide guidance and support to business and technology leaders, as well as solution delivery teams, in making strategic and tactical decisions that align with the enterprise vision and objectives.
This is a paid internship with a flexible schedule based on project needs.
Anticipated Duration: Summer 2024 Semester: May - August
Hours: 30-40 hours per week
Pay Rate: $18.00/hour
Location: Remote, United States (strong preference given to candidates residing in Eastern time zone)
Skills Gained and Learning Opportunities:
- Practical experience with a large, global non-profit organization
- Shadowing, mentoring, and training opportunities with successful research, technical, and/or program management professionals
- Experience working with an inter-disciplinary team addressing global development challenges related to technology usage and standards
- Exposure to technical architecture, standards management and emerging technology disciplines in highly dynamic IT environment
Anticipated Project(s) and Assignment Details:
The intern may contribute to various team or project activities under the direction of their supervisor in the following ways:
- Contribute to research or project activities as assigned by supervisor.
- Organize, document and publish technical standards and architecture processes and decisions.
- Maintain Technical Inventory in Architecture inventory tools.
- Quality Assurance efforts on Emerging Technology projects
- Technical assistance on TAP related projects and support efforts
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at a college or university in a related field of study or within one year of graduation date: Information Technology, or Computer Science
- Demonstrated interest in related subject area through studies, work experience, and/or personal travel.
- Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.
- Strong writing and research skills
- Articulate, professional, and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
- Familiar with the Microsoft product suite

- Remote office environment
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; ability to lift to 5 lbs.
