PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) is an eight-year global project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). EpiC supports partner governments to prevent, prepare for, respond to and bolster health systems to address COVID-19. EpiC has supported COVID-19 response in 54 countries across Africa, Latin America, Asia and the Pacific, including the Philippines. EpiC offers technical assistance for emergency, mid-term and long-term responses.

In the Philippines, USAIDโ€™s EpiC works closely with the Department of Health, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) โ€“ Ministry of Health (MOH), and other local partners to increase the capacities and resources of healthcare workers and health facilities in providing high-quality clinical management of COVID-19 cases; strengthening hospital oxygen ecosystems; improving laboratory and biomedical systems; procuring essential commodities, consumables, and supplies; and building mental health resilience among healthcare workers. EpiC has been working with partners in institutionalizing these technical assistance (TA) activities and support through sustained capacity-building and enhancing policies and processes.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Technical Officer will provide the required technical support and guidance to the project and help create scientific, technical, or programmatic materials in various areas of expertise. He or she will also help in writing policies, protocols, and procedures related to the projectโ€™s key programmatic areas as well as technical inputs to reports and other deliverables. He or she will lead the designing, implementing, evaluating, and documenting assessments, research, or related studies.
