Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. Under the overall guidance of the National Project Officer and the direct supervision of the Senior Project Associate/Coordinator, the incumbent will support the implementation of project activities under IOMโs social cohesion and resilience portfolio.
- Support the overall implementation and monitoring of project activities, including frequent field visits to projectโs target locations.ย
- Be responsible for day-to-day project correspondence, information sharing and filing, ensuring that appropriate follow-up actions are taken. Assist in project files update.
- Support administrative coordination of project implementation, involving liaison with diverse organizational units and external partners to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process, and follow-up on administrative actions, etc
- Monitor activity/grant budget; verify availability of funds; obtain necessary approval and update budget related information.ย ย
- Organize meetings in the local communities, as well as workshops and training sessions with project partners and beneficiaries, as required by the project.
- Coordinate communication related activities with the project teams and well as IOM implementing partners in the local communities.
- Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on specific project topics.
- Draft status reports, identifying shortfalls in implementation and bringing them to the attention of the supervisor.ย
- Draft correspondence, reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations and other forms of documentation in both English and local languages, including translation, when required.ย
- Respond to general information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records.

- Schoolย diploma with five years of relevant experience; or,
- Bachelorโs degree in Political or Social sciences, Development Studies, Human Rights or related fields from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience. Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. ย Experience
- Prior experience in similar positions involving work with stakeholders at the community level, including CSOโs and government institutions.ย
- Prior experience in organizing and supporting community dialogues related to fostering cohesion and trust in local communities.
- Prior work experience in the projects related to social cohesion and resilience.ย
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage Skills

- Able to prioritize work, multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Good oral and written communication skills in both English and local languages.
- Knowledge of financial and procurement rules and procedures.
- Knowledge of SAP and IOM financial and procurement rules and regulations is a strong advantage.

For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written) and in one of the three official languages spoken in BiH. IOMโs official languages are English, French and Spanish.
