ContextThis task is part of our communication and outreach activities aimed at documenting and showcasing the impact of our programmes supporting vulnerable communities in eastern Chad. Through interviews with project beneficiaries, we seek to capture and share authentic testimonies highlighting how our interventions contribute to strengthening community resilience, social cohesion and livelihoods. The contributions of online volunteers will play a key role in making these stories accessible to an international audience through accurate translation and subtitling into English. This will directly support our advocacy, partner engagement and accountability efforts, while enhancing the visibility of results achieved on the ground. This activity contributes in particular to the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): • SDG 1 (No Poverty), by highlighting initiatives that strengthen livelihoods; • SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), by giving a voice to marginalized populations; • SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), by promoting social cohesion and community resilience.
Task DescriptionWe are looking for online volunteers to support the translation of three short video interviews with project beneficiaries in eastern Chad from Arabic (Sudanese dialect) into English. The translated content will be used to produce English subtitles for communication and reporting purposes. Tasks and responsibilities: • Listen to and accurately transcribe the Arabic (Sudanese) audio from three interview videos. • Translate the transcripts into clear, natural English while preserving the meaning and tone of the speakers. • Provide time-stamped translations (start and end times) aligned with the spoken segments to facilitate subtitle integration. • Review and revise translations to ensure quality, consistency, and readability for subtitles. Selected online volunteers will receive the document in its original language and will be given advice on the target audience and our communication guidelines, as well as other advice if necessary.
