ย The Internship Programme aims at attracting talented students and graduates who have a specific interest in, or whose studies have covered, areas relevant to IOM programmes and activities. Interns must be between 20 and 36 years old and should have less than two years of relevant working experience.ย
ย In general, the Internship Programme aims at attracting talented students and graduates who:
ย a) have a specific interest in, or whose studies have covered, areas relevant to IOM programmes and activities;b) are holding a scholarship for internship placements in international organizations and/or for whom internship is required to complete their studies; orc) are sponsored by governmental/non governmental institutions and/or academia to work in specific areas relevant to both IOM and the sponsor.d) are either enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelorโs level or equivalent) or have graduated in the last 12 months.e) are between 20 and 36 years of age.
ย ย Supervision
Under the general administrative supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM), the overall guidance of the Head of Human Resources and the direct supervision of the Senior HR Associate in Germany, the intern will support the operational activities of the HR Team.ย Learning Objectives

Drafting of reference letters
Maintenance and compliance of personnel files
Archiving HR documentation

Time and Attendance Administration
Daily absence registration and tracking
Preparation and administration of extended leaves (e.g. parental leave, special leave)

Recruitment Administration
Support in vacancy advertisements and pre-screening of applications
Assistance with compliance and background checks
Scheduling of interviews and assessments

The intern will also perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor and/or the Chief of Mission.

ย EducationStudent or graduate, preferably in Human Resources, Psychology, Social and/or Political Sciences, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.ย Skills
Fluency in English and German (written and spoken) is required
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word)
Prior experience in Human Resources or a related administrative field is an asset
An interest in the work of international organizations and issues related to migrationย Languages
Very good knowledge of spoken and written German; fluency in English.
