5 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

This is a full time consultancy with the duration of 6 months (renewable based on performance).

The Position:

UNFPA Evaluation Office (EO) is seeking a social media professional with proven social media and digital skills to manage EOโ€™s social media channels and create content that reflects EOโ€™s communication priorities. This position reports directly to the Communication and Knowledge Management Specialist at UNFPA Evaluation Office.

How you can make a difference:

UNFPA is the lead UN agency for delivering a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe and every young person's potential is fulfilled. UNFPAโ€™s strategic plan (2022-2025), reaffirms the relevance of the current strategic direction of UNFPA and focuses on three transformative results: to end preventable maternal deaths; end unmet need for family planning; and end gender-based violence and harmful practices. These results capture our strategic commitments on accelerating progress towards realizing the ICPD and SDGs in the Decade of Action leading up to 2030. Our strategic plan calls upon UN Member States, organizations and individuals to โ€œbuild forward betterโ€, while addressing the negative impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on womenโ€™s and girlsโ€™ access to sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights, recover lost gains and realize our goals.

In a world where fundamental human rights are at risk, we need principled and ethical staff, who embody these international norms and standards, and who will defend them courageously and with full conviction.

UNFPA is seeking candidates that transform, inspire and deliver high impact and sustained results; we need staff who are transparent, exceptional in how they manage the resources entrusted to them and who commit to deliver excellence in programme results.

Job Purpose:

In line with the UNFPA Evaluation Policy and the Evaluation Strategy (2022-2025), the Evaluation Office launched a strategy to enhance evaluation use through communications and knowledge management (2022-2025). The strategy provides a results-based framework to strengthen evaluation use at UNFPA and beyond through a strong focus on increased engagement with stakeholders, effective communication of evaluations and improved accessibility of evaluative knowledge. Digital communications including social media outreach support the rollout of the strategy by increasing the visibility of EO and UNFPA evaluations, thereby enhancing the use of evaluation for decision-making, accountability and learning.

In addition, to propel the global evaluation community toward the achievement of the SDGs by 2030, the Evaluation Office also co-leads the Decade of EVALUATION for Action, also known as the Eval4Action campaign. The campaign uses social media outreach to deepen engagement with its 160+ partners and mobilize action for influential evaluation.
