FHI 360 is seeking a qualified and motivated Vietnamese candidate to serve as a temporary Senior Technical Officer based in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City. The Officer will work closely with experts in clinical care and medical gas systems to build the capacity of local, provincial, and national stakeholders.
This position is funded from March to September 2024.
Main responsibilities:
Serve as the technical focal point for training activities aimed at improving clinical care in government hospitals and the use of medical oxygen systems.
Build and manage relationships with experts at universities, institutes, and provincial governments to meet project objectives.
Oversee the development of training curricula (both in-person and online courses) and ensure adherence to project standards in technical quality, branding, content, etc.
Develop training plans that align with trainer and trainee schedules.
Manage procurement of qualified vendors and oversee their performance.
Organize meetings, workshops, and training sessions at hospitals, hotels, and partner locations.
Ensure alignment with work plan deliverables.
Review program data and make programmatic pivots to meet targets and fill service gaps.
Develop manuscripts, presentations, and job aids, and other knowledge products promoting successes, lessons learned, and knowledge gained via programming.
Facilitate communities of practice on various technical topics.
Report and respond to ad hoc requests related to areas of technical expertise.
Other duties as assigned.
Experience and abilities for the position:
University degree in biomedical engineering, laboratory science, education, public health, medicine, psychology, or related field. An advanced degree is preferred.
Minimum of five yearsโ experience implementing health training programs.
Technical expertise in medicine, medical devices and/or infrastructure, or other related field an advantage.
Experience working with international NGOs and the Government of Vietnam on to improve health outcomes.
Well-developed written and oral communication skills in both Vietnamese and English.
Proficiency in MS office package (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, etc.).
Ability to travel as necessary.
