Generic responsibilities
Line management of protection Officers and Assistants in Area North. Adherence to NRC policies, guidelines, procedures and awareness of NRC global and regional strategies Contribute to protection strategy development, project proposals and provide input on needs and gaps, considering, where appropriate, the role of cash-based interventions.ย Manage and implement a delegated portfolio of Protection from Violence projects (activities, budget, and project documentation) as delegated by the Project Manager in line with proposals, strategies, and donor requirements, and ensure sound technical quality of implementation. Provide regular progress reports to the Project Manager and CC specialist. Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the activities, Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection and explore and assess new and better ways to assist refugee and host populations, namely through ongoing stakeholder mapping and communication with community members. Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills as needed. Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders. Promote the rights of displaced people in line with NRC advocacy strategy.Specific responsibilitiesย
Programme Implementation, Monitoring and Reporting:

Produce monthly progress reports on Protection activities to help keep track of main achievements, challenges and planning priorities related to activities implemented in the field.ย Support negotiation and advocacy with local authorities, community representatives and other relevant stakeholders based on project implementation priorities as communicated by management Participate in needs assessments, field research exercises, and lead data collection in the field, interact with community representatives and local stakeholders, fill out forms and submit related reportsย Representation of NRC Protection in relevant meetings at field level as delegated by management. Travel to project implementation areas on an equal basis, to support in programme implementation and capacity building. Keep accurate project-based records of activities implemented and beneficiaries reached by updating relevant databases and fact sheets monthly. Closely liaise with procurement, logistics, and finance colleagues throughout the process to ensure timely completion of the process and availability of the required goods and services.Internal and External Capacity Building:

Support the planning and delivery of trainings, workshops and other capacity-building activities for Protection and other Core Competency staff, as well as relevant community members and project beneficiaries on Protection, Community Engagement on Protection, protection integrated programming, negotiation and advocacy Contribute to the development and translation of training material Provide close technical support, including in-field assistance, on-the-job mentoring, feedback, to field-based Protection staff (POs and PAs)ย
Other Important Task:
Ensure the inclusion of cash-based interventions and marked based programmes in country and area-based strategies and their implementation across and within NRCโs core competencies Contribute to the development of budgets, proposals and donor reporting. University Degree in Social or Management Science e.g.ย political or social science, international relations, law, gender studies, human rights etc. At least 3 years of professional experience in the humanitarian sector with international organizations, ideally in an emergency response or field-based humanitarian protection role. At least 1 year experience in a team leadership or line management position. Experience in coordination with external stakeholders, including local authorities, municipalities, and partner NGOs. Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity, and flexibility Strong understanding of risks, stakeholders and dynamics relevant to humanitarian protection of vulnerable displaced persons in Sudan. Demonstrated ability in English and Arabic, spoken language skills, and in particular strong English writing abilityBehavioral competenciesย
