FHI 360โ€™s Global Connections (GC) department is a leader in designing innovative international exchanges that promote leadership, professional development, academic opportunities and global collaboration for students and emerging leaders around the world. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to lead the implementation of high-priority and high-visibility teacher professional development initiatives for the English Access Scholarship Program (Access). Funded by the U.S. Department of Stateโ€™s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs Office of English Language Programs (ECA/A/L), the Access program provides a foundation of English-language, leadership, and professional skills and exposure to U.S. culture and democratic values to underserved students, primary aged 13 to 20, from around the world. The program also offers professional development opportunities for international English as a Foreign Language (EFL) professionals including teachers and administrators.

Job Summary:

The Project Manager is a member of the Access Teacher Engagement team reporting to the Associate Director. Collaborating closely with ECA/A/L, the Project Manager will lead the Curriculum Development and In-country Teacher Training portfolios and supervise a team of TESOL Technical Officers. The role will oversee the development, implementation, and effectiveness of content, resources, and training activities to support Access teachers globally in planning and delivering an Access curriculum aligned with identified U.S. public diplomacy goals. The role will also provide high-level support to a large volume of content development and teacher training consultants that are procured and managed by the TESOL Technical Officers. Finally, the Project Manager will coordinate closely with the Associate Director to establish and manage the Teacher Engagement teamโ€™s overall monitoring and evaluation system, tracking and reporting on all progress made towards meeting Access program objectives.

  • Coordinate closely with the Associate Director to plan and implement high profile teacher engagement initiatives across five concurrent five-year cooperative agreements.

  • Employ a solutions-driven approach in ensuring Curriculum Development and In-country Teacher Training goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with ECA/A/L as well as stakeholders in the field including Regional English Language Officers (RELOs), American Officers, and Locally Employed Staff at U.S. Embassies/Consulates.

  • Manage and mentor 2-4 TESOL Technical Officer positions, junior staff, and/or interns on the Teacher Engagement team; continue to structure and professionally develop staff to align with client needs, organizational objectives, and program growth.

  • In close collaboration with the Associate Director, lead the expansion of Curriculum Development and In-country Teacher Training activities to align with ECA/A/L priorities related to teacher professional development.

  • Lead and implement a small grants program for Access teachers and alumni in close coordination with the Finance & Contracts team.

  • Lead efforts to capture and catalog participant impact stories in close coordination with the Systems team.

  • Oversee monitoring and evaluation activities, including the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairsโ€™ MODE initiative, in collaboration with the Associate Director to implement a cohesive data collection and reporting strategy.

  • Serve as the FHI 360 Safeguarding Focal Point person for all Access program activities.
