Required Skills and Experience

Education:

Masterโ€™s degree or equivalent in International Development, Law, Political science, Social science, Gender/Women studies, human rights, international relations, or other social science fields is required.ย A first-level university degree in combination with 5 additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Experience:

At least 7 years experience in governance and gender equality, womenโ€™s empowerment, or womenโ€™s human rights issues with a focus on womenโ€™s leadership and political participation. ย Experience in conducting legal and/or gender analysis and research relating to the law, writing, and paraphrasing complex legal concepts, and formulating recommendations.Experience in working and facilitating high-level dialogues with strategic stakeholders including international organizations, national governments, academia, political parties, and CSOs in the field of gender and human rights in promoting womenโ€™s leadership and political participation. ย Experience working in the UN System is an asset

Language Requirements:

Fluency in English and Kiswahili is required.Knowledge of the other UN official language is an asset
