UN Security Council Resolution 2720 (2023) mandates the establishment of a mechanism โ€œfor accelerating the provision of humanitarian relief consignments to Gaza through states which are not party to the conflict, consulting all relevant parties, with the goal of expediting, streamlining, and accelerating the process of providing assistance.โ€ The United Nations 2720 Mechanism for Gaza will be built to include all the commodities that are necessary to ensure effective response to the needs of 2.2 million residents of Gaza (throughout the Strip), encompassing humanitarian, reconstruction, and early recovery needs.

Functional Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Cyprus UN2720 Coordinator the Logistics Specialist will be responsible for the following:

  1. Work on the logistics strategy of the Mechanism
