About this position

Within the Accounting Division, The Loan and Corporate Accounts Group executes processes related to the Loan back-office and Corporate Accounts Payable and Receivable.

We are looking for self-driven, detail-oriented, problem solver to fill two Loan Officer National Consultant position and report to the Group Head. As a Loan Officer National Consultant, you will support the team and our clients.

This team is responsible for servicing the loan portfolio of the Bank.

What you’ll do

· Provide accounting, reporting and control services for loans and grants.

· Review applicable loan interest calculations, income charges, subsidies, late fees, and balances based on the loan agreements and prepare statement of accounts.

· Ensure collections are allocated accurately and timely to the corresponding operations and follow up on arrears according to Bank Policies, procedures, and loan contracts.

· Provide support to our borrowers, country offices, and other clients regarding the loan portfolio of the Bank.

· Ensure all transactions conform to Bank policies and procedures and that they are properly registered.

· Support different activities and Capital Projects relating to the Loan Financial System, LIBOR transition to SOFR, and other loan and reporting tasks.

· Analyzes, reviews, and provides comments on financial terms and conditions of private sector project documents and loan agreements to ensure compliance with Bank lending policies.

· Maintain appropriate documentation of performed work for auditor's review.

What you'll need

· Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Accounting, Business, Finance, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role is required.

· Experience: At least 2 years of progressive experience in public accounting (preferably Big Four accounting firms), International Organizations, or Financial Institutions.

· Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

Requirements:

· Citizenship: You must be a citizen of one of our 48-member countries, and a citizen or permanent resident of a country where the IDB has a Country Office.

· Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

· Remote Modality: The selected candidate will not provide services from the Bank’s office and will not be provided a physical space on the premises of the Bank’s Country Office. The candidate selected will be responsible for setting up the space, and for having the equipment, internet, and phone accesses to accomplish these TORs, outside the Bank’s office. Access to the Bank’s systems will be arranged in coordination with the Bank.

· Type of contract: National Consultant (National Remote Modality).

· Length of contract: 12 months.

· Work Location: Remote.
