DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employs over 700 staff in Ukraine and will continue to implement humanitarian response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context.

DRC is currently looking for a Humanitarian Mine Action Officer (EORE Officer) for its activities in Kharkiv.

About the job

The main goal of the job is raising Explosive Ordnance risk awareness and introducing safety rules related to hazard of ERW among the population of the Eastern region (mostly Kharkiv oblast) through information sessions and other methodologies.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

Conducting direct and online EORE sessions for adults, adolescent, and children according to DRC HDP SOPs,using standard and approved methodologies; As a Trainer, conducting EORE Training of Trainers (ToT) for local stakeholders; Conducting Community Liaisons (CL) with local communities; Distributing and reporting on EORE informational materials to EORE Team Leader; Contributing to the development of EORE (informational) materials, methodologies, and tools; Reporting using developed Information Management (IM) tools; Supporting EORE Facilitators, their work, and contributing to their capacity development; Participating in the development of activity workplans and follow them accordingly; Complying with field coordination directions of EORE Team Leader and flag uncoordinated efforts to them; Liaising with DRC HDP Humanitarian Demining, Non-Technical Survey, Victim Assistance, and other DRC sectorsto ensure an integrated approach; Maintaining up-to-date knowledge on the context, including Explosive Ordnance (EO) contamination, and flagchanges to EORE Team Leader; All other assigned duties by EORE Team Leader and Technical Field Manager.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to be a proactive and adaptable professional with excellent communication skills and ability to guide the team. Moreover, we also expect the following:

Acknowledged experience in EORE in one of the Ukrainian mine-action operators Experience working with children, adolescent, and adult audiences, public speaking skills; University degree in Education or Pedagogy or in another relevant field; Fluent in Ukrainian and Russian languages, with at least a basic level of English; Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office package (with focus on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

Contract length: 3-months, renewable after satisfactory probation period.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National Staff.
