The Global Green Growth Institute internship program provides a unique learning opportunity for students and recent graduates from diverse academic backgrounds. The program is designed for talented and motivated individuals skilled in areas relevant to GGGIโs operations. The program allows selected candidates to gain insight into the work of the Institute and provides assistance and training in various professional fields in a multicultural environment. CURRENT OPPORTUNITY
The GGGI Asia Regional Office is looking for a talented individual to work support ongoing work across Asia. The successful candidate will report to the Asia Program Development and Portfolio Management Officer. The assignment will include the following duties:
- Support the review, editing and of the draft Pakistan Country Planning Framework.
- Support the coordination of inputs for and review of draft regional approaches on nature-based solutions for climate adaptation and resilience, circular economy and sustainable waste management, Just Energy Transition (JET), and carbon pricing and trading.
- Provide timely support to the Asia Regional Office and Asia Country Offices in preparing, submitting and presenting their Work Program and Budget (WPB) for 2025/26
- Provide background research support to Asia-related proposal development for resource mobilization in Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and India, among others where appropriate.
- Support the planning and delivery of internal knowledge sharing sessions.
- Support to planning for engagement with, and preparation for, GGGIโs attendance at external events, including the preparation of slides decks and background research.
- Provide support to the preparation and conduct of the Asia-related sessions for the GGGWeek 2024 scheduled in October 2024.
- Provide support in drafting communication messages, PowerPoint slides, word and excel documents to support the Asia program.
- Provide support on coordination tasks where required, such as organizing internal meetings and external meetings, and providing summaries after meetings.
- Perform other tasks assigned from time to time by the Asia Regional Office.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants to the GGGI internship program must at the time of application meet the following requirements:
- Be enrolled in a Bachelorโs (final year), Masterโs or PhD program prior to internship assignment, or a recent graduate within the last 12 months.
- Be engaged or recently engaged in academic study in a field directly related to the Instituteโs work.
- Possess an excellent command of English.
QUALIFICATION
- Be enrolled in a Bachelorโs (final year), Masterโs or PhD program in economics, development economics, environmental science, social sciences, or other relevant fields prior to internship assignment, or be a recent graduate within the last 12 months.
- Proven computer literacy in standard office software applications skills.
- Strong analytical skills, with a drive for data analysis, forecasting, and interpretation.
- Excellent English communication skills, particularly writing and/or editing experience in the field of financial modeling or economic statistics
- Excellent and demonstrable ability to think critically, question underpinning logic, and provide solutions and alternatives.
- Ability to work/deliver under time pressure.
- Good interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds.
SELECTION PROCESS

- GGGI evaluates applications based on: eligibility requirements, relevance of academic study and work experience (if any); and the level of interest and motivation to contribute to development work.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Duration: The internship program is for at least three months and up to six months. Once selected, interns must begin your internship either prior to or within 12 months of graduation.
Stipend: GGGI interns receive a monthly stipend of USD $500 per month (unless agreed to be funded by sponsoring institutions). All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by either the interns themselves or sponsoring institutions.
Visa: GGGI will provide a supporting letter for visa. Interns will be responsible for obtaining and financing the necessary visas.
Travel: Intern will arrange and finance their travel to the internship location.
Medical Insurance: Interns must present proof of valid medical insurance to GGGI upon returning the signed internship contract.
Confidentiality: Interns must keep confidential any and all unpublished information obtained during the course of the internship and may not publish any documents based on such information.
Academic Credit: Interns may get academic credit from their institution of higher education for the internship. Interns need to check with their university to confirm their academic credit policy for internships.
Working Hours: interns are expected to work during normal working hours. Leave should be pre-approved by the Intern Manager, and the latter should inform the Office of HR accordingly.
Learning Outcomes: before completion of the internship, Intern Managers are expected to review the learning outcomes with the intern.
Certificate: provided upon successful completion of the internship, upon request.
