Do you have experience and an understanding of survivor centred approach to incident management, safety and protection needs of survivor(s) and others related to SEA allegations? We are looking for you!
Your main role will be to strengthen NRCโs systems for preventing and responding to allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse including child abuse that involve NRC people. This position is expected to travel extensively to country and regional offices to carry out investigations, and support safeguarding prevention activities across functions. It will also be expected to guide, coach and mentor NRC staff supporting incident or investigation management response.
NRC is committed to zero tolerance on inaction to responding to acts of sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) by staff against the people we work with and their host communities and other staff working with robust prevention and response systems, offering support to survivors, and holding those responsible to account. In this position therefore, you will work (as part of a small core team) on developing and strengthening systems for prevention and response, and on responding to and investigating all allegations of child abuse and SEA, with a special focus on the former. You will also assist in the implementation of NRCโs strategy, work alongside teams to develop action plans in these areas and ensure NRC has updated guidelines and procedures on how to handle complaints.
What you will doย
Some of your day-to-day tasks will include;ย
Lead and/or manage cases of serious misconduct involving children and/or other SEA allegations that are categorized as moderate, critical, or severe as necessary.ย Coach and mentor regional and country level staff who support child safeguarding investigations. Coordinate with other NRC staff working on child safeguarding or within the Safe Inclusive Programme framework to support and develop training and guidance around child safeguarding, ensure that procedures and policies for prevention and response are complementary and coherent.ย Contribute to the development of innovative approaches to preventing SEA and broader child safeguarding issues working closely with programme teams, especially Safe Inclusive Programming (SIP) managers and the education Global Lead.What you will bringย
