We are currently seeking qualified Gender Advisor candidates to be proposed on an anticipated USAID/Kyrgyz Republic New Civil Society Activity that would work to strengthen civil society and support civic participation in the Kyrgyz Republic. Availability of position is contingent upon award to FHI 360 and selection of final applicant is subject to USAID approval.
Job Summary:
The Gender Advisor will help ensure that the project effectively integrates key gender and social inclusion-related considerations into project interventions, understands how the proposed project interventions will affect a spectrum of social groups (i.e., women, men, people with disabilities, marginalized, etc.), and minimizes the negative impacts of said interventions. The Gender Advisor will also support the design and implementation of project activities that address the unique challenges that women, youth, and vulnerable groups face in their communities. They will work closely with the Chief of Party and Program Coordinator, supporting them and project staff with recommendations, contribute to the overall adaptive programming approach, and play a key role in project work planning, learning, and reporting.
Essential Job Functions: Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee, research and serve as lead writer for a Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Analysis, a Gender Integration Development Action Plan (GIDAP), as well as revise these documents as needed per USAID and technical project feedback;
- Provide guidance to, and work closely with, the Chief of Party and field staff on inclusion and gender issues across all program areas, with a focus on grantee activities and the development of appropriate messaging;
- Incorporate gender and inclusion approaches in all project activities, including research and data collection;
- Develop and deliver training to program staff, partners, and relevant stakeholders on inclusion-related issues, tools, and approaches, and conduct awareness raising initiatives;
- Deliver technical assistance to stakeholders to build capacity around development of inclusive practices and policies; and
- Provide inputs on program reports โ including annual work plans, quarterly performance reports, policy briefs, etc. โ in collaboration with field staff.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelorโs degree in relevant field; advanced degree preferred;
- Minimum of eight (8) yearsโ experience designing and implementing activities related to gender integration;
- Solid knowledge of the Kyrgyz civil society sector is required;
- Knowledge of USAID regulations is preferable;
- English and Kyrgyz and/or Russian proficiency required;
- Proficiency in all three languages is highly desired;
- Occasional travel to target municipalities is required.
