Job Overview

The purpose of the Education Officer (BLP/Master Trainer) position is to provide technical support and implement on Better Learning Programme (BLP) and Teacher Training to NRC and local partnersโ€™ staff and to ensure quality implementation of the interventions.

Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines.ย  Prepare and develop status reports as required by management Ensure proper filing of documents. Identify and respond to capacity-building needs and provide systematic training to NRCโ€™s and local partnersโ€™ staff. Support evidence-based learning for program development.ย  Liaison and collaborate with the local partner and relevant local authorities and stakeholders. Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and asses new and better ways to assist Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy.

Specific responsibilities:

Provide technical support on the Better Learning Program (BLP) and Teacher Training to NRC and local partnersโ€™ staff and ensure high quality of the training packagesโ€™ implementation.ย  Provide feedback sessions and capacity development sessions for staff regarding BLP and Teacher Training. Provide technical support, based upon an assessment or monitoring, and devise a clear action plan (including training)ย  Ensure that lessons learned are properly documented, effectively disseminated, and where appropriate incorporated into wider design and advocacy initiatives. Conduct regular field visits to provide supportive supervision to NRC field staff and local partners. Conduct regular assessments to identify psychosocial support needs within education. Continuously support the development and updating of training materials and tools to meet the needs of various areas when rolling out BLP. Ensure that the BLP and Teacher Training data are properly updated, managed, and sorted for reporting purposes. Advocacy for program/beneficiaries through the development of case studies/success stories Ensure that procedural tools are used properly by the local partners. Produce high-quality reports and analysis of the training interventions. Organize and conduct team meetings and workshops.ย  Support with an After-Action review of the entire BLP and Teacher Training intervention.

Generic professional competencies for this position:

University degreeย in Education, Social Science, and psychology.ย  Minimum 3 years relevant experience in the implementation of education or similar projects in a humanitarian/recovery context Experience working in the Education Emergency and psychology support field is an advantage. Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts. Documented results related to the positionโ€™s responsibilities. Knowledge about own leadership skills/profileย  Fluency in English, both written and verbal.ย 

Context-related skills: knowledge and experience:

Should have geographical experience. Knowledge of the local languages โ€“ Dari, Pashtoย and Uzbeki Experience in capacity building and training of staff Experience of coordination and advocacy work Political and cultural awareness and experience of working where insecurity is an issue Strong analytical thinking skills (qualitative and qualitative)

Monthly Salary based on NRC Afghanistan Salary Scale. Phone with Top up Credit card with internet package on monthly basis. NRC will cover staff plus four (4) depended for medical insurance.
