The Youth Officer is responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of the Youth program in the relevant areas through organizing and delivering Youth activities in line with NRCโ€™s strategy and standards

Generic Responsibilities:

1. Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines

2. Coordinate the Youth activities according to strategy, proposals, budgets and plans

3. Involve and inform communities and community leaders about the activities

4. Break down the annual operational plans into weekly, monthly and quarterly implementation plans

5. Coordinate with relevant partners

6. Ensure that procurement, development and distribution of materials and equipment are timely and according to procedures

7. Supervise, train and develop team

8. Prepare periodic progress reports and other documents as required

9. Investigate and facilitate introduction of new technology, methods and approaches in order to improve the quality of the activities

10. Ensure that NRCโ€™s related activities are implemented within NRCโ€™s Protection mainstreaming guidelines and reports any breaches/concerns to the line manager and/or focal point for proper action.

Specific Responsibilities:

ยท Supervision of works on field and workshops in accordance with course curricula, and technical specifications; ensuring correct implementation of vocational works according to quality standards and designs.

ยท Checking, recording, and testing of completed works in coordination with youth staff and trainers.

ยท Participate in design and implementation of youth assessments (i.e. trainersโ€™ training needs, youth participation, workshops management, community involvement in youth etcโ€ฆ)

ยท Responsible for the day-to-day activities at workshop level and all workshops level participation.

ยท Create and maintain a safe classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the physical, social, and emotional development of youth both inside and outside the workshops/centers

ยท Develop and maintain positive relations with refugee and host communities, local authorities and other local actors.

ยท Plan and prepare outreach work and conduct frequently outreach information and counseling sessions with identified communities.

ยท Ensure that the projects implemented are realized in a timely manner and as per the objectives and activities in the project work plan.

ยท Collect and enter data for monitoring and evaluation processes e.g. data base, youth daily attendance

ยท Process, document and archive all administrative processes

1.Professional competencies:

ยท Bachelorโ€™s degree, in education management or any related field.

ยท 2-3 yearsโ€™ experience from working in youth and vocational training projects

ยท Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts

ยท Fluency in English, both written and verbal

ยท Knowledge of NGO operations and the dynamics of the humanitarian sector

ยท Strong documentation, research and report writing skills

ยท Knowledge and experience in child protection issues

ยท Experience in designing and presenting training and participatory programs

ยท Experience in community sensitization/ mobilization
