NRC has obtained its registration in the Country in 2021 and is planning to implement activities within an integrated programme which includes Rapid Emergency Response (Shelter/WASH NFI distribution), Emergency Education, Information Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA), and exploring other programmatic possibilities mainly Food Security and Livelihoods FSL. NRC has set up the basis of a country office, having established an office in Pemba and a field office in Mueda district and is rapidly recruiting staff alongside scaling up activities. There is a particular focus to implement in some of the hard-to-reach areas which have particular access constraints, especially due to the conflict.

The purpose of the Education Coordinator position is to implement the delegated project portfolio. The following is a brief description of the role.
Generic responsibilitiesLine management of project staff Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures and awareness of NRC global, regional, and emergency strategies Contribute to national Education strategy development and project proposals and provide input on needs and gaps; consider where appropriate the role of cash-based interventions Coordinate and manage Education project implementation (activities, budget, and project documentation) in line with proposals, strategies, and donor requirements Implement technical direction and ensure high technical quality of projects Provide regular progress reports Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection, explore and asses new and better ways to assist Develop and manage project budget, in cooperation with CCS and AM Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders

Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:Knowledge of the Education context in Cabo Delgado is required Knowledge of the circumstances, needs and challenges displacement and conflict-affected host community, returnees and IDP children face preferred Experience with youth/adolescent programming and linkages to livelihoods an asset Experience with EiE and formal education in a humanitarian context preferred Experience with PSS as an asset Experience working with children and/or educators required Experience liaising with multiple stakeholders including government, donor, UN and NGO partners a priority
