  • Lead the development of M&E, Quality Improvement and Digital Health strategic planning and budgeting
  • Oversee monitoring of all PIH Lesotho programsโ€™ data collection, analysis, reporting and dissemination in coordination with relevant program managers
  • Lead the preparation M&E plans for all programs
  • Liaise closely with PIH Lesotho clinical team leaders, Community Health team leaders and the Boston-based PIH Coordination site Strategic Information Systems team
  • Represent the team at senior PIH meetings, high-level meetings with external partners, the Ministry Of Health (MOH) and international conferences
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with key counterparts in partner organizations, including government agencies, non-profit organizations and community leaders
  • Manage and facilitate the professional development of a growing team Data Analysis & Utilization
    • Develop specific tools to facilitate improvement of data quality and increased data utilization at the facility level
    • Create specific data collection protocols that ensure accountability and a robust stream of information to decision-makers and key stakeholders
    • Ensure system for conducting quality monitoring and data-driven program improvement activities
    • Assist in the development of M&E, QI and digital health sections of grant proposals and donor reports
    • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to undertake process and impact evaluations of PIH programs in order to assess project performance against program objectives, logic models and targets
      • Lead and manage the uses of Electronic Medical Records (OpenMRS), DHIS2, CommCare and other digital health platforms
        • Lead interpretation and communication of sensitive M&E analyses to leadership for strategic decision-making
        • Support different PIH-Lesotho departments in priority setting for research.
        • Encourage data-driven decision-making at local and national levels
        • Ensure the timely dissemination of results and conclusions from monitoring, evaluation and quality improvement activities, both within PIH and to other partners and stakeholders
        • Evaluate and implement new technology to improve maintenance, handling and retention of medical records and digital health platforms
        • Assist MOH in developing the strategic direction for managing the implementation of digital patient information systems, planning for future system expansion, and enhancing system access and utilization.
        • Perform other official duties as assigned Qualifications:
          • Masterโ€™s Degree in Public Health, epidemiology or related field
          • Minimum 8 yearsโ€™ professional experience in monitoring and evaluation
          • Strong skills in Microsoft suite of tools, especially Excel and PowerBI
          • Personnel management experience
          • Demonstrable experience in research and program evaluation
          • Experience with developing training materials, conducting workshops and other capacity building activities
          • Ability to mentor and manage individuals with diverse educational and cultural backgrounds
          • Strong written and spoken English skills and ability to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders
          • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
          • Experience with OpenMRS, CommCare, or similar digital health platforms preferred
          • Experience with operational research and peer-reviewed publication preferred
          • Work experience in resource-limited settings and/or rural areas
          • Willingness to live in Lesotho full-time is required
