Background
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is an independent humanitarian non-governmental organization founded in 1946. We provide assistance, protect the rights and contribute to solving the problems of refugees, internally displaced persons and other persons affected by armed conflict. NRC began its activities in Ukraine at the end of 2014, supporting people affected by the conflict in the east of the country. We are now increasing our efforts in Ukraine and neighbouring countries to provide assistance to people forced to flee their homes due to war.ย
In light of NRC Ukraine moving to a new location much bigger than the current CO office in Kyiv requires a Cleaner to ensure that the new location is cleaned adequatelyย
Role and responsibilitiesThe purpose of the position is to provide service support in terms of cleaning Kyiv Country office.ย
ย Responsibilitiesย
Cleaning office rooms, washrooms/WC, kitchen, and other common areas including vacuum cleaning,ย desks, chairs, windows, and office equipment.ย Keep office room floorsย (3 floors for 2 cleaners), surfaces, furniture, walls, doors, windows, carpets cleaned and hygienic.ย Ensure toilets and office required items/supplies (soap, sprays, towels, etc.) are cleaned and well organized; ensure that washrooms, kitchen rooms are properly stocked with requirements.ย Empty wastepaper baskets, dustbins, and shredding machine; Responsible for removing trash in office area.ย Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.ย ย Perform all other work-related duties which is given by supervisor.Competencies preferable
Basic Education and High School graduate is preferred. 1-2 yearsโ Experience working as Cleaner in a humanitarian context. Ukrainian language. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently Good time management skills Ability to work independently or as part of a team Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks Good communication skills3.
