Position Title: Associate Director of Learning, Development, and Systems Optimization

Reports to: HR Director PIH-US

Location: Employees in this role can work from our Boston, MA office, remotely within the U.S. or a hybrid of these two options.

Position Overview:

The Associate Director of Learning, Development and Systems Optimization is responsible for building, maintaining and improving systems in both the area of general human resources (HR) as well as the area of learning and development. The Associate Director is responsible for reviewing all current HR processes to identify gaps and areas for improvement and subsequently developing and implementing new or updated processes to advance the overall efficiency of the HR team, both in how the team operates internally as well as how the team supports external stakeholders. The Associate Director is also tasked with establishing a global strategy for learning and development by reviewing existing materials, developing a network of training focal points, leveraging existing resources, identifying existing gaps and advancing new initiatives. The Associate Director will establish and maintain solid collaboration with HR colleagues at care delivery and university sites to promote best practices and to partner as a subject matter expert.

Responsibilities:

HR Systems (50%)

Evaluate current internal HR business processes and identify gaps and areas for improvement: processes include performance management, recruiting and hiring, compensation, onboarding, and employee relations practices, among others. Develop and implement solutions to optimize internal HR systems with the aim of improving team efficiency and efficacy. Identify and facilitate implementation of improvements to global HR team systems spanning both U.S. Coordination Site and care delivery site HR teams with the aim to enhance cross-site outcomes. Evaluate current HR systems as they relate to PIH entities and identify gaps and areas for improvements, particularly those processes connecting HR to budget, finance, IT, legal and Office of the CEO teams. Develop and partner with cross-team stakeholders to implement solutions to optimize external HR systems.

Assess current learning and development resources across the organization, including existing trainings, training focal points, professional development practices, gaps in learning and development offerings and opportunities for improvement. Develop and implement short, medium, and long-term solutions to improve learning and development program at PIH, leveraging existing resources as well as building new system components. Identify and implement strategy for learning management systems organization wide, including building library of existing trainings. Set initial standard for learning and development program, including train-the-trainer initiatives, cultivation and dissemination of best practices and generation of consistency across sites and teams. In close collaboration with HR team, design, deliver and promote relevant learning opportunities. Cultivate a long-term vision for training and development for PIH-US and U.S. Coordination Site with active input from cross-site partners.

Qualifications:

Bachelorโ€™s Degree and 8+ years of relevant work experience Advanced project management experience, particularly in complex settings involving multiple stakeholders. Experience in building and launching new systems as well as developing and implementing improvements to existing systems. Exemplary interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with culturally diverse staff across departments and country. Interest in social justice and global health strongly desirable
