The purpose of the position is to provide technical support in constructions related aspects of work, including support functions. The Technical Assistant Hard provides a range of support within their area of expertise e.g. technical advice and monitoring for implementing partners or constructions companies.

Facilitate and supervise the construction and/or rehabilitation works of water and sanitation facilities, shelters and other community infrastructures identified by NRCย Participate in preliminary activities (needs assessment, identification of beneficiaries, design of technical documents) of the WASH and Shelter sectorSupport capacity building of masons, skill and unskilled workers and local populationsย Provide technical advice and supervision to integrate traditional construction systems and knowledge and to help beneficiaries build their own shelterPromote the sustainability of settlements and community infrastructure interventions through technical training in the management and maintenance of the worksCollect and share weekly evidence and required sources of verification of WASH-Shelter installations (distribution lists, photos, success stories, testimonies, minutes)Provide feedback to line manager on goods and materials ordered, as well as the quality of work from contractorsย Share the observations from the field, particularly the input received from beneficiaries to improve the programmeC - Generic professional competencies:
