In Chad, CCS partners operate under an Alliance model, collaborating across organisations to support people on the move and host communities, while advancing dataโled programming and operational linkages across the border.
To help drive this work forward, we are recruiting a Regional Coordinator (SudanโChad). The role is based in NโDjamena, Chad with travel to Abรฉchรฉ, Adrรฉ and locations along the ChadโSudan border, reporting directly to the CCS Chief of Party with a dotted technical line to the host partnerโs Country Director. You will work closely with the CCS Secretariat, Steering Committee, and Technical Working Groups across CCS and the Alliance.
Role and Responsibilities
As the Regional Coordinator (SudanโChad), you will take on the following responsibilities:
Monitor crossโborder displacement trends and dynamics in hosting locations, identifying where CCS partners are well placed to respond through cash and voucher assistance, early recovery, market strengthening and privateโsector engagement.Shape a coherent regional vision for CCS and ensure strong, transparent communication among the CCS Secretariat and Alliance partners; coordinate closely with the Regional Coordinator for South Sudan.Coโlead donor engagement strategies with the Chief of Party and Alliance Country Directors, building collaborative approaches and resourcing for scale.Support technical workflows across targeting, population flows, data systems, financial service providers (FSPs), business development services and privateโsector engagement, proposing innovative, efficiencyโboosting solutions.Identify capacityโstrengthening needs and coordinate responses; consolidate timely monthly analyses (economic, political, conflict, nexus) to inform programmes and advocacy, incorporating user feedback from partners.Drive programme development with Alliance partners in Chad, including governance, harmonisation, tools and adaptive management; convene quarterly planning and progress reviews; contribute to highโquality donor reports and proposals; advise on implementation challenges.Lead relationshipโbuilding within the Chad Alliance and represent CCS/Alliance with donors, UN agencies, coordination fora (especially the Cash Working Group), INGO platforms, Durable Solutions groups, donor cash forums and relevant public authorities linked to social protection.Champion dataโinformed decisionโmaking and costโefficient opportunities for learning exchange, stakeholder outreach and operational scaleโup across the border.Location & Travel: This role is based in NโDjamena and requires up to 75% travel within Chad and the wider region, including to areas with limited amenities and restricted movement; individual housing is provided.
Qualifications and Experience
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills:
Degree in international studies, economics or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.5โ7 yearsโ international programme management in emergency and recovery, with proven experience supporting consortia/alliances and facilitating influence in networked partnership settings.3โ5 yearsโ experience in cash transfer programming and marketโbased approaches, including engagement with privateโsector actors and FSPs in complex conflict contexts.Experience in donor engagement (e.g. FCDO, ECHO, SDC), and strong communication across diverse stakeholders and teams (direct and remote).Deep contextual knowledge of Chad; excellent French (required) and Arabic an asset; strong planning, problemโsolving and adaptability in sensitive environments.Please read the attached terms of reference for more details before applying.Competencies
