Project Background
USAID End Tuberculosis (TB) Tajikistan Activity is a five-year project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). USAID End Tuberculosis (TB) Tajikistan Activity aims to reduce the burden of TB in the Republic of Tajikistan. The project activity results are focuses on improving case detection and notification for all forms of TB, increasing the number of patients cured of all forms of TB, strengthening TB prevention by expanded preventive treatment and improved infection prevention and control (IPC) interventions, and strengthening TB system resilience/reliance in public health emergency.
Position Summary
Under the supervision Senior Technical Advisor on TB Care Cascade, the Training Supervision Manager will lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive capacity-building plan for the project aligned with national policies, industry standards, and donor requirements. S/He will provide technical direction and training for staff and partners and oversee the operational aspects of the capacity building approach, including capacity-building indicators, monitoring plans, and any recommended changes to the work plan and/or budget based on data collected and lessons-learned from the field. S/He will also prepare capacity building sections of donor reports and learning documents; and provide coordination and capacity-building technical support for government and community organizations based on the latest evidence and best practices. Her/his responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the organizational needs assessment for the project and synthesize findings to develop a context-specific capacity building action plan.
- Design evidence-based approaches to strengthen capacity in TB care and prevention and integrate within project activities according to the action plan.
- Provide technical support in creation and dissemination of capacity-building tools, strategies for assistance and mentorship, reports, and interventions across the project.
- Work closely with assigned teams to ensure capacity building activities are implemented according to best practices and evidence-based frameworks.
- Develop project training work plans and coordinate with donors and partners on relevant training activities.
- Review, assess, and evaluate the effectiveness of capacity-building interventions and make recommendations for enhancements.
- Willingness to travel within country
- Performs other relevant duties as assigned by the AR1,2, and3 Lead.
Minimum Requirements
- At least Bachelor's degree or its international equivalent in the social sciences, management, public health, international development, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience, including managing and implementing capacity-building activities for donor-funded programs, preferably within multi-sector programs in Tajikistan or similar country contexts.
- Demonstrated abilities in a range of capacity-building models and methodologies.
- Expertise in delivering capacity-building training at the community level, ideally through both mentoring and more formal training approaches.
- Experience coordinating with government and community organizations, in the design and implementation of capacity-building strategies.
- Any relevant Tajik professional qualifications are an advantage.
- Fluency in English, Russian and Tajiki is required.
- Position open to Tajik nationals or individuals who have the legal authority to work in Tajikistan.
