The Statistics Department (STA) of the IMF, and the IMFโ€™s Regional Technical Assistance Center for Central America, Panama, and the Dominican Republic (www.captac-dr.org) have an opening for a Regional Government Finance Statistics (GFS) and Public Sector Debt Statistics (PSDS) Advisor (hereinafter referred as โ€œRegional Advisorโ€) based in Guatemala, Guatemala. CAPTAC-DR is a multi-donor financed Regional Technical Assistance Center (RTAC) of the IMF that serves 7 member countries (Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama).

The Regional Advisorโ€™s initial appointment is for one year, commencing on July 15, 2024, with the possibility of extensions for up to a total of three years, based on performance and management approval. The Resident Advisor will oversee and undertake capacity development (CD) support in GFS and PSDS areas in respective member countries as part of CAPTAC-DRโ€™s statistical work program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Regional Advisor will primarily support CAPTAC-DR member countries to improve the compilation and dissemination of fiscal and public sector debt statistics, which is intended to inform the authoritiesโ€™ policy analysis and formulation, as well as support the IMFโ€™s operational work with those countries.
