    The position is located in Talent Acquisition, within the Employee Experience Unit of the Talent Management Service, in the Human Resources Management Department (HRMD). The purpose of the Talent Management Service is to prepare a future-ready and skilled workforce. Through the effective recruitment, deployment, development and retention of WIPO's workforce, the Talent Management Service contributes to the delivery of an agile, innovative workforce whose performance is aligned with WIPO's short and long-term goals and where talent management delivers tangible results that positively affect engagement.

    1. Purpose Statement

      ย 

      The Talent Acquisition Officer is responsible for sourcing and attracting the talent needed for WIPO to fulfil its mandate.ย  The Talent Acquisition Officer will coordinate recruitment processes including acting as HR representative on selection boards, reviewing selection reports and come up with innovative ways to attract and recruit Talent whilst taking into consideration the regulatory framework in place.ย  The Talent Acquisition Officer will be expected to constantly put forward proposals to improve, streamline and automate recruitment processes to ensure the recruitment and selection processes are efficient, timely and value-added.

        The Talent Acquisition Officer reports to the Talent Acquisition and Development Manager and cooperates closely with HR colleagues of the Talent Management Service and other functions within HRMD, as well as with Senior Leaders, Managers, Employees and external providers.

        2.ย ย ย ย ย  Duties and Responsibilities

        ย 

        The incumbent will perform the following principal duties:

        ย 

        a.ย ย  Act as a first line support to the Talent Acquisition team and internal clients responding to recruitment and outreach related questions and queries and offering guidance and advice as per our staff rules and regulations and HR best practice.

        ย 

        b.ย ย  Participate as HR representative in boards when/as needed for both fixed term and temporary recruitment processes.

        ย 

        c.ย ย  Constantly look for ways to improve, streamline and automate our recruitment and selection processes, putting forward appropriate and business-oriented proposals to ensure the WIPO selection process offers a positive candidate experience, positive employer branding as well as value-added hires for WIPO.

        d.ย ย  Review draft selection reports for fixed-term and temporary competitions to ensure consistency of format/presentation, appropriateness of language, and compliance with applicable Staff Rules and Regulations; flag any sensitive issues / procedural anomalies to the Talent Acquisition and Development Manager.

        e.ย ย  Provide direct assistance to Boards regarding complex, sensitive cases.ย  Directly supervise Board Administrators (agency workers).

        f.ย ย ย  Undertake other tasks as required.

        3.ย ย ย ย ย  Requirements

        ย 

        Education (Essential)

        First-level university degree in Human Resources management, public or business administration, law, science, social sciences or related field.

        ย 

        Experience (Essential)

        At least six years of relevant professional work experience, of which at least three at the international level.

        ย 

        At least two years of experience working in talent acquisition and sourcing.

        ย 

        Experience (Desirable)

        HR experience in the private sector.

        ย 

        Experience in Marketing and / or Communications.

        ย 

        Language (Essential)

        Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.

        ย 

        Language (Desirable)

        Knowledge of other WIPO official languages, particularly French.
