    SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association which, since more than 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their basic needs for food, water and shelter. Particularly committed to the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI's interventions provide expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in some twenty countries, the SI teams โ€“ 2500 people in total, made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at HQ, and a few volunteers - intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultural norms.

    About the mission

    Mission:

    SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) has been working in Syria since 2012. The mission employs nearly 300 national staff, and more than 40 expatriates, and has a 25 million EUR budget forecasted for 2023. There are 3 implementing offices in Syria (2 in North East Syria/NES, 1 in North West Syria/NWS) with the coordination based in Amman - Jordan. This position is based in Amman, Jordan.

    The NES programs provide an integrated assistance in the WASH, NFI, Shelter and Livelihoods sectors to displaced populations and host communities affected by the conflict. NWS programs are remotely managed and provide WASH, FSL, Shelter and NFI/Winterization support to affected populations.

    Type and content of program:

    Syria mission is dedicated to work in challenging context to provide lifesaving activities to the population affected by the conflict. A turn from lifesaving activities to more post-emergency/development has also been undertaken.

    About the job

    General objectives and the main task:

    The Logistics Coordinator steers a missionโ€™s logistical activities in order to ensure that Solidaritรฉs International in-country programs run smoothly.

    He/she implements Solidaritรฉs International mission procedures and logistical tools and ensures that they are properly used and adhered to.

    He/she participates in defining Solidaritรฉs Internationalโ€™s mission strategy, in drawing up projects and in assessing the resources needed for Solidaritรฉs International activities.

    He/she supports the Country Director in operational security management.

    He/she is the point of reference for the mission and serves as the link between headquarters and the mission for all matters relating to logistics.

    List of main Tasks:

  • Stock management
Premises management Supply Management, during the Supply Co absence Vehicle Fleet Management Equipment park / Telecommunications management Computer equipment management and monitoring Human resources management Capacity Building Security Reporting / capitalization

Priorities for the 2/3 first months:

Standardization and harmonization of the tools and systems in NES and NWS. Capacity building of the Amman Logistics Team and the Field Logistics Teams Visits to all the Field Offices

Management:

Number of persons under direct management: 1 person: Deputy Logistics Coordinator (under Deputy there is 1 Logistics staff (in Amman) Number of persons under functional management: 4 persons (Log Managers NES (x2) + Log Responsible Erbil + Log Manager NWS)

Your profile

Diploma/education:

Bachelor's degree in a field related to supply and/or logistics.

Previous experience:

5-10 years of Logistics experience. 1-5 years of INGO experience including a managerial position. Proven capacity building experience. Experience in Syria context is an added value.

Skills:

Great communication, time management, team management. Autonomous, organized, ability to prioritize and to work under pressure. Strong computer skills essential.

SI Will Offer you

A salaried post:
According to experience, starting from 2400 euros gross per month (+ 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem of 785 USD

SI also covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment.

Vacation: During the assignment, a system of alternation between work and time off is implemented at the rate of on 7 working days every three months. For a one-year assignment, the expatriate will have a 7 working days break at 3/6 and 9 month.

To these break periods, it is necessary to add the granting of 1 additional rest day per month worked > i.e. 12 days in addition for a 1-year contract.

Social and medical cover:
Expatriates benefit from an insurance package which reimburses all healthcare expenses (including medical and surgical expenses, dental care and ophthalmological expenses, repatriation) and a welfare system including war risks. Essential vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are refunded.

LIVING CONDITIONS:

The candidate will be based in Amman. The city is considered safe and expat friendly. SI provides guest houses to Expats and family packages. Social life is vibrant with many places for food and entertainment. Living conditions are comfortable. The candidate will have his own room, and well-equipped common areas.

The per diem rate for Amman is 785 USD a month.
