Position Summary
PSI-Europe is seeking a highly motivated and English- & French-speaking professional with a track record in social entrepreneurship and affinity with Public Health / Sexual & Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)/ Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) / Gender / Human Rights, to support the implementation of a large-scale government-funded project that focuses on the promotion of menstrual health and dignity (MHD) across low- and middle- income countries.

The project will be implemented by a consortium of four international NGOs. The Social Enterprise Support Manager will lead two strategic aspects of the project: the small grant-making to and the capacity-building of social enterprises committed to menstrual health, in nine countries across three regions.

Supervisory Relationship
The Small Grant-making Manager reports to the Project Coordinator of the Sang Pour Sang Project and manages consultants brought in ad hoc to support their deliverables.

Key Responsibilities


Small-grant making

Lead the selection of social enterprises for small grants to advance menstrual product access in nine countries across three regions:

Liaise with the other consortium members to commission a landscaping study of market needs & of the SRHR, WASH and menstrual health social entrepreneurship ecosystem in nine countries across three regions;Prepare and lead the assessment of the eligibility and the selection of local social enterprises for small grants (<50,000โ‚ฌ) & capacity-building, based on their needs, business robustness and the alignment of their projects with the menstrual health and dignity agenda of the project;Prepare, assist and work with the Administrative and Finance team and consultants to conduct due diligences and manage the contracting and monitoring of the granteesOversee the execution of the granteesโ€™ projects and liaise with them for monitoring purposes. Together with the grantees, co-develop a monitoring framework for MEL purposes.

Capacity-building

Lead the provision of capacity-building to social enterprise grantees.

Lead the development of a capacity-building agenda for social enterprises grantees;Manage the development or adaptation of capacity-building content for social enterprise partners;Coordinate the delivery of capacity building content to social enterprise partners;Provide ad hoc management and operational support to social enterprise partners;Coordinate learning opportunities for social enterprise partners and the capture of knowledge for dissemination.

International travel up to 20%.

General

Prepare and assist in fulfilling all donor reporting requirements in relation to the work of the social enterprises/grantees.Manage and disseminate progress reports. Prepare and provide program and financial management assistance together with the Program Coordinator to ensure alignment with donor reporting requirements and internal requirements in coordination with PSI-Europeโ€™s Managing Director and Director of Finance.When required, act as a spokesperson vis-ร -vis the donor and consortium partners regarding the social enterprise component of the project.Develop Thought Leadership and communication pieces on social enterprise work in the menstrual health sector in low- and middle- income countries.Provide input for advocacy and communication purposes led by the Communications and Advocacy Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelorโ€™s degree in business administration or comparable study.5-7 years of relevant working experience in social entrepreneurship in low- and middle- income countries, of which at least 3 in a management position.Proven affinity with Public Health / SRHR / WASH / Gender / Human rights.Full professional proficiency in French and English, knowledge of Spanish a plus.Proficiency in word processing and excel spreadsheet software essential.Highly self-motivated and able to work independently and remotely without colleagues present in the same office.Team player with excellent inter-cultural communication skills.Supports an intersectional feminist approach, defined as putting the rights and needs of women and girls, and their intersections with age, disability, ethnicity, income, local region, race, sexuality related inequalities at the center of our work.Excellent writing and analytical skillsProactive and flexible. Hands-on attitude. Good sense of humour and comfortable working in cross-cultural contextsWillingness to travel (ca. 20%)
