The Fiscal Affairs Department (FAD) of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is seeking to fill the position of tax administration advisor at AFRITAC Centre (AFC) in Libreville.

The successful candidate will be appointed for a period of one year. The contract may be renewable subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funding. It is expected that sufficient funding will be available for the advisor to spend around four years in the position. The advisor will be based at the AFC offices in Libreville, Gabon.

The advisor's primary responsibilities will be to: (i) support the center director and steering committee in developing and monitoring the AFC work plan for the member countries, following IMF Results Based Management (RBM) principles and practice; (ii) contribute to center reporting; (iii) consult with tax authorities on capacity development priorities and provide direct technical assistance as requested; (iv) help countries implement tax administration reform strategies designed in close coordination between them and FAD; (v) manage and provide support to short-term tax administration experts recruited to deliver technical assistance to these countries; (vi) manage the development and delivery of tax administration capacity building events such as regional workshops and seminars; (vii) coordinate with other technical assistance providers and their experts; and (viii) as required, represent FAD at events organized by other regional organizations in the area.
