ITD delivers world-class IT solutions and services, leads day-to-day technology operations, and provides ongoing support to ensure the satisfaction of our business partners across the Fund. We build and run IT solutions, platforms, and infrastructure in an agile and secure manner and are closely aligned to industry best practices. As we scale up our work in service to Fund staff and our membership, we are seeking experienced professionals to join our team with the skills and expertise needed to meet current and emerging needs.
The ITD Content Division is seeking a highly motivated and skilled intern to join our team in-person at the IMF Washington DC HQ offices for a 3-month internship focused on enterprise search technologies with generative AI capabilities. The intern will conduct research, develop proof of concept, prototype, and compare GenAI-driven search solutions to recommend the most effective path for enterprise search strategy. The successful candidate will be participating in and contributing as a member of the Search project team that provides production sustain services conducting on-going search performance tuning and optimization while incorporating user feedback for enhancements. One of the research projects is to explore options and opportunities for improving the search functionality of the IMF.ORG web site. It is a critical digital communication vehicle of the Fund attracting over 25 million unique visitors per year and a gateway to the Fundโs research, analysis, policy advice, and data in multiple languages. Improved search is essential for transforming a public-facing website into an efficient and user-centric platform. Advanced search tools also offer valuable analytics to benefit content owners and stewards in identifying knowledge gaps, optimizing content based on user intent, and building public trust through transparent and easy access to information.
Key duties and responsibilities
Technology Research: Conduct in-depth analysis of GenAI capabilities in enterprise search platforms, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and relevance intelligence.
Prototyping & PoC Development: Develop functional proofs-of-concept using platform services, APIs, and SDKs from a number of leading technologies.
