About ITD: The Information Technology Department (ITD) provides high quality, value for money Information Technology services and leadership in the application of technology towards the mission of the Fund. ITD delivers world-class IT solutions and services, leads day-to-day technology operations, and provides ongoing support to ensure the satisfaction of our business partners across the Fund. We build and run IT solutions, platforms, and infrastructure in an agile and secure manner and are closely aligned to industry best practices. As we scale up our work in service to Fund staff and our membership, we are seeking experienced professionals to join our team with the skills and expertise needed to meet current and emerging needs.
The Project Portfolio Intern at the ITD Project Management Office (PMO) will help PMO team oversee and facilitate the delivery of the IT Capital Portfolio, Programs, and Projects to support the IMF's strategic goals and objectives.
Main responsibilities include:
Support the PMO team by tracking project/program deliverables and milestones, promoting the adoption of project lifecycle and deliverables, coordinating project-level risks and issues, and understanding and reporting project and program performance against budget, schedule, and scope.
Assist the PMO team in defining and updating project management processes, standards, and governance, facilitating quality reviews and ensuring adherence to standards, supporting the ITD Capital Portfolio Roadmaps and prioritization process, and managing the portfolio-level risks and issues register.
Assist Project Managers in ensuring adherence to project standards across the portfolio, consolidating project material for monthly Portfolio reports, providing effective management and reporting support on projects, and monitoring projects against time, budget, and quality standards.
Assist with PMO trainings on PMO methodologies, processes, standards, and tools, and provide support and coaching to Project Managers and projectsโ other key stakeholders to ensure adherence to PMO methodologies and standards.
Assist monitoring project activities and preparing reports for portfolio governance committees, support the PMO practice team with portfolio reporting and analysis.
Work with AI developer to deploy PM/PMO AI Use cases to streamline portfolio management operations and reporting
Qualifications
To compete for an IT internship, at a minimum you must:
Be enrolled in a Masterโs degree program in a relevant field, such as information technology (computer science, information systems management), data science, or business administration.
Be in student status at the time of the internship. Only those students who will return to school upon completion of their internship assignments would be considered.
Be in good academic standing.
Have an excellent command of English (both written and oral).
Show an interest in, and aptitude for working in a multicultural environment.
Duration of internship
Internship assignments are up to 3 months.
