Strong technical and strategic expertise in logistics or supply chain management within humanitarian sector.

Analytical capability to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

Ability to build strong alliances with key stakeholders within the Regional Office (RO) and Country Offices(COs) through Networking, diplomacy, and relationship building to help with resourcing and implementation of improvements and optimization initiatives.

What you will do

The Regional Logistic Advisor works to strengthen Logistics services across the region by working closely with the Country Office Logistics Managers and Heads of Support, providing amongst others, technical advice as needed, audit and control services to the Country Offices assisting HR in the recruitment of Country Office Logistics Managers, and lead the exchange of experiences in the region.

In this position you will:

Provide strategic advice and technical support to the Country Offices in the region on Logistics. Contribute to the development of policies, strategies, tools, and new approaches, with a focus on innovation and piloting. Provide technical support on market analysis tools and methodologies used to support project modality decisions for the feasibility of cash programming, including digital tools for data collection. Keep oversight of the implementation of market analysis activity in Country Office Logistics and facilitate capacity building for logistics staff. Support and monitor compliance with the Logistic handbooks and NRC policies, and respective quality assurances providing control checks to the County Offices and partially through travel visits to the country offices. Ensure that best practices are identified, documented, and disseminated both within the region and beyond. Provide coherent and coordinated feedback to theย Head Office and Regional office senior management regarding the needs and challenges of logistics units within the MENA region. Provide capacity development across Country Offices in the region and the Regional Office. Develop regional procurement capacities; investigate regional markets and regional procurement options. Support Global Logistics in driving the Global Supply Chain Strategy at the Country Office level.

What you will bring

A Bachelors degree in a relevant field of study. Minimum 7 years of experience working as a senior Logistics Manager in a humanitarian/recovery context, preferably for some of that time in a regional setting.ย  Strong technical expertise in Logistics and or Supply Chain management Experience working in complex and volatile contexts including emergency settings. Experience in data collection, analysis and report writing. Extensive experience in supply chain digital tools and systems as well as knowledge of market analysis tools and approaches. Proactive, strong communication and presentation skills with ability to negotiate and influence others. Knowledge of the context in the Middle East & North Africa is desirable Knowledge of the Arabic language is desirableย  Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Valid driverโ€™s license.ย 

What we offer

Duty station: Amman, Jordan, Middle East and North Africa Regional Office. Amman is a family duty station.ย  Contract: 24 months. Travel: 40% travel to countries within the Middle East and North Africa region based on need. Salary/benefits: Grade 9 on NRCโ€™s salary scales, with accompanying terms and conditions.
