    WFP Lebanon provides cash assistance to Syrian refugees and in-kind assistance to vulnerable Lebanese, while supporting the Government in strengthening social safety nets.     Contract Duration: 12 Months, (Renewable based on availability of funds, business needs and performance)

    Job Purpose: WFP is globally known for its ability to deliver food assistance rapidly to people in need. The Accountability to Affected Populations and Gender, Protection and Inclusion (AAP/GPI) unit, a sub-unit of WFPโ€™s Programme unit, focuses on creating accountability through effective two-way communication with affected populations through different community feedback mechanism and community engagement channels, as well as on ensuring equal, safe and dignified access to assistance for all vulnerable people based on their particular needs.

    Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Head of Programme, the Programme Policy Officer (AAP/GPI) will ensure that WFP has sound accountability systems in place to ensure the safety, dignity and integrity of affected populations and that assistance is accessible impartially and equitably to the persons in need. The Programme Policy Officer (AAP/GPI) will act as Head of the AAP/GPI unit. In this role, they will support the Lebanon Country Office to improve mainstreaming and integration of AAP, gender, protection, disability inclusion and other inclusion considerations into all programmes and operations, based on WFP policies and guidelines. They will be responsible for ensuring the management of the AAP/GPI unit, oversee monitoring and analysis of contextual developments relevant to the objectives of the unit, ensure close coordination with relevant internal and external stakeholders, alignment of the unitโ€™s priorities with WFPโ€™s priorities in Lebanon and strengthen related capacities of WFP staff, operational and government partners.

    In addition, the selected incumbent will serve as WFP Lebanonโ€™s Focal Person for Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), ensuring compliance with corporate standards and strong coordination with inter-agency PSEA networks.

    This position requires strong leadership, coordination and analysis skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
