Program Facilitator - Promoting Education, Skills and an Enabling Environment for Ending Child Marriages (PROSE-ECM) Grant Funded Project

Job Description

The Program Facilitator will work closely with and report to the PROSE-ECM Project Coordinator. S/He will collaborate closely with the project team in their assigned district to ensure effective implementation of PROSE-ECM grant activities. S/He will also collaborate closely with the Projectโ€™s Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator. S/He will have functional links with all project staff, local stakeholders, technical partners and key populations representatives.

Accountabilities

Project Planning and Implementation

  • Supporting the Project Coordinator in ensuring that project activities are implemented in accordance with the work plan and approved budget;
  • Ensuring familiarity with donor compliance issues, ensuring the PROSE-ECM project is compliant with these and Plan procedures;
  • Ensuring adherence to Planโ€™s administrative, financial and logistical Plan systems/procedures so support functions are carried out effectively and efficiently;
  • Closely manage the project schedule, monitoring deadlines for each project task and report any potential delays to the Project Coordinator
  • Providing technical assistance to the establishment of in-school and out-of-school girls clubs, among other project activities;
  • Monitoring the selection of beneficiaries for project activities, with an eye to ensuring that the most vulnerable and marginalized beneficiaries are prioritized;
  • Reporting challenges encountered for quick redress by the Project Coordinator;
  • Identifying any potential issues or risks that could affect the progression of the project and communicate to the Project Coordinator;
  • Prepare activity reports and submit to the Project Coordinator for review;
  • Documenting and sharing best practices for planning purposes;

    Partnership Management

    • Provide administrative support to the partner on boarding for effective implementation of project
    • Support Partners to develop detailed workplans and budgets in line with the Plan International Zimbabweโ€™s guidelines
    • Organize and circulate partnership documents including guidelines on safeguarding, gender equality etc.
    • Support, organize and conduct Project reflection and review meetings at team and district levels that bring on board different stakeholders

      Influencing

      • Mobilise communities to attend community awareness meetings about Plan programmes and projects
      • As may be requested, gather and share case studies, write up success stories and profile the impact of projects implementation of their projects.
      • Identify and implement influencing activities for the project as per plan
      • Support the Project Coordinator on reporting on influencing
      • Support the program area led influencing activities as assigned

        Other key deliverables including:

        Adherence to Plan policies, including:

        • Ensures that Plan Internationalโ€™s global policies for Safeguarding of Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility.

          Qualifications and Experience:

          • Degree in Development Studies, Social Science, Gender, Project Management, or any relevant degree from a recognized institution;
          • A minimum of 2 years practical experience working with rural communities;
          • Experience in project management and implementation in the field;
          • Knowledge and experience in the delivery of training and resources to adults, young people and children;
          • Ability to work with teams, communicate and coordinate with government departments and other agencies at various levels;
          • Knowledge of development issues, trends, challenges and opportunities and implications to community development;
          • Knowledge of matters related to end teen pregnancies and ending child marriage, and strategies to influence policies in these domains;
