Mercy Corps is seeking a People Experience Storytelling and Mapping Intern to capture the unique stories of Mercy Corps team members around the world through video blogs, photos, infographics, overview presentations and social media engagement, as well as spearheading the strategic mapping of university relations development initiatives and all related content creation. LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
      • The successful candidate will learn how storytelling through video blogs, data analysis, creative content collection, one-on-one interviews and stakeholder engagement play a significant role in influencing organizational mission and objectives in an international development agency.
      • Gain an understanding of the lifecycle of data and how it feeds into strategic people-centered development initiatives in an agency setting.
      • Gain experience in a multicultural work environment, coordinating and building relationships with a global team across time zones and geographies, many of whom operate in complex, challenging environments.
      • The candidate will have the opportunity to advance their skills in cross-cultural communication, organizational culture, creative problem solving and time management. DELIVERABLES:
        • Video blogs of Mercy Corps team members telling their stories around the world.
        • Infographics compiled through data analysis that are high quality and visually engaging.
        • Overview presentations and hands-on toolkits for university relations development initiatives.
        • Creative content collection (video footage, photos, sound bites etc.) from global stakeholders.
        • Social media post creation and brand refreshment across all People Experience owned social media channels (LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Mercy Corps Careers page).
        • Strategic mapping of university relations development initiatives. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
          • University degree in progress or recently completed (within 1 year) in communications, marketing, media, video, design or related field.
          • Command of Canva required, Adobe Premier for video editing preferred.
          • Experience with Google Suite and Microsoft Office
          • Passion for international humanitarian development and ability to embrace the diversity of a complex global organization.
          • Strong visual portfolio that showcases creativity, process, editing, production and presentation.
          • Creative problem solver โ€“ able to design, develop and revolutionize ideas.
          • Compelling storytelling skills โ€“ able to deliver in a way that generates human engagement, excitement and joy for the work we do. .
          • Attention to detail โ€“ able to manage and track and prioritize multiple requests by maintaining strong communications and managing stakeholder expectations
          • Excellent communication skills โ€“ written and spoken
          • Interest in working in a multicultural environment, and with stakeholders in multiple geographies.
