The mission of the Green Climate Fund is to assist developing countries to respond to climate change while bringing prosperity to their people. Established in 2010, the GCF invests in transformational climate projects in the developing world. The Fund makes an ambitious contribution to global climate action and channels significant financial resources into developing countries to help build low-emission and climate-resilient societies. It is country-driven and undertakes actions that reflect the circumstances of each country concerned and its national aspirations. The GCF is a key enabler of the 2015 Paris Agreement on Climate Change. Since its establishment, the GCF has approved 192 projects in 123 countries and has committed USD 10.1 billion in climate finance. In addition, it has built up an extensive program to support developing countries to identify their needs, in particular, those who are most vulnerable to climate change impacts. Position Objective
Under the guidance of the Climate Impact Area Lead, the Operations Analyst will be responsible for providing project management support to facilitate the smooth and speedy execution and effectiveness of Funded Activity Agreements of projects brought for Board approval. The Analyst will also assist the Division in project management and Board reporting, other related Divisional support including meetings and procurement management.
Duties and responsibilities
Purpose

Coordinate tracking of corporate key performance indicators of the Division for the post approval stage.

Manage Post-approval tracking system, feed post-approval data to relevant online platforms and provide analytical support.

Support improvement as well as integration of ICT tools related to portfolio management.
Engagement
-
Support coordination across the various Climate Impact Areas on project Post Approval processes

Manage the post-approval process through proactive coordination with other relevant division(s) and AEs for Funded Activity Agreement (FAA) execution and effectiveness;

Conduct the completeness/quality assurance check during FAA negotiation and the process for subsequent milestones
Delivery

Undertake analysis of the status of DMA portfolio in the post-approval stage

Support preparation of documents for the Board, committees, Secretariat, and other stakeholders in the project post approval stage

Draft memos for effective decision making of GCF Board, Committee and Senior Management.

Regularly update DMA Management and other staff members of the Division on the status of the project/programme portfolio.

Carry out any other analytical and project support duties as requested.
Required experience and qualifications

Bachelorโs degree, with seven years of relevant experience in renowned international organizations and/or project related institutions; An Advanced degree with five years of relevant experience is acceptable.

Experience in supporting legal arrangement, drafting memos and coordination role is required;

Deep knowledge and understanding of the business model and project cycle of the GCF as well as the roles and functions of the different divisions involved during the post-approval process

Familiarity with GCF policies, relevant understanding of the negotiation process of a term sheet and FAA and processes for tracking the fulfillment of the related project/program conditions.

Experience in managing project and program databases and tracking systems for project management.

Formal training and/or Understanding on project management are recommended;

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Ability to deal with large volumes of work under time pressure with a high level of accuracy; and

Ability to exercise tact and discretion in dealing with daily business in consultation with the relevant stakeholders.
