LEARNING OBJECTIVES: The learning objectives will be co-designed with the selected intern and fit to their individual interests and aspirations. Some anticipated learning outcomes include: understanding of the program management cycle, knowledge management processes, communications and strategy. DELIVERABLES: COMMUNICATIONS โ— Support in developing a communications strategy for Mercy Corps Liberia โ— Develop program specific content including success stories, communication briefs, press releases, fact sheets and capacity statements โ— Increase visibility of Mercy Corps Liberiaโ€™s work by publishing content through radio, print and digital media platforms REPORTING โ— Compile monthly programmatic reports for internal documentation โ— Support program leads to compile donor reports on a quarterly, semi-annual and annual basis โ— Develop success stories and lessons learned in contribution to donor reports STRATEGY โ— Track Mercy Corps Liberiaโ€™s progress on country strategy actualization โ— Track trends related to key strategy outcome areas โ— Support with the design, writing and review of new proposals KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT โ— Ensure proper filing of program documents in line with PM@MC minimum standards โ— Provide support and mentoring to program staff to effectively utilize program filing structures โ— Provide documentation support during key program management meetings including BvAs, regular program meetings, learning and reflection meetings, etc. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree from a minority-serving institution (MSI) in any relevant field; pursuing or recently completed a graduate degree from a minority-serving institution (MSI);
  • Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in English;
  • Experience in writing, communications, journalism, reporting and/or knowledge management;
  • Experience developing captivating content;
  • Ability to uphold a strict level of confidentiality;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites, experience with design software (Adobe, Canva, etc) preferred;
  • Exceptional time management, planning and organizational skills;
  • Ability to work independently, dynamically and effectively under pressure;
  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate across departments with a variety of stakeholders;
  • Must be analytical, detail-oriented, conscientious and flexible;
  • Self-starter and persistent. The Knowledge Management Intern must have exceptional written and analytical skills. They can read a document and quickly capture key ideas and provide critical and constructive feedback. They need to be a fast learner, who thinks quickly on their feet, but also doesnโ€™t succumb to pressure. They are dynamic and can work simultaneously on multiple tasks with a willingness and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people. They can work as part of a team and coordinate with all stakeholders. When there is a gap, they step in to fill it, working proactively to ensure work gets done, no matter who is responsible. Housing is individual accommodation with unlimited freedom of movement beyond the house/office.
