    The Moldovan base is part of the Ukrainian crisis mission, covering Moldova and Ukraine and supervised from Kyiv.

    The conflict in Ukraine has seen a dramatic and rapid escalation since 24th February 2022 with massive multidimensional attacks from Russian troops throughout Ukraine, from the East, North, and Southern borders that affected a large part of the country including the capital, Kyiv. This attack has been immediately followed by massive displacements, and more than 4 500 000 Ukrainians have taken refuge in neighboring countries. About 6 500 000 are internally displaced, mostly in the Western part of the country. In the East, impacts of the conflict are felt and humanitarian operations support people remaining on the frontlines.

    SI strategy is to support the population in transit, the IDPs where they are settling and the population on the frontline directly affected by the ongoing conflict through a multisectoral approach including WaSH, Shelter, NFI, Food activities.

    It is estimated end of February 2023 that more than 109,000 Ukrainians are present in Moldova; 67% are female, 39% are children under the age of 18.

    About the job

    General Objectives

    The Field Coordinator has the role of delegated Country Director (CD) for a region of a country in which Solidarites International intervenes. In addition, he/she covers the Chief of Party position for the AFD-FDF project and is the highest representative of SI in Moldova.

    He/she proposes a regional strategy according to the geopolitical and humanitarian context, and ensures its implementation once validated.

    He/she checks and ensures that projects are carried out in accordance with the Solidarites International charter, respecting all internal and contractual procedures.

    He/she mobilizes the material and financial resources necessary for programs to run smoothly and supervises resource management.

    He/she coordinates the teams in place and is responsible for their security in his/her assigned zone.

    He/she is the He Country Director’s direct contact and representative.

Your profile

Specific required skills

Education: General Education

Experience:

At least 1 years of experience as Field Coordinator and/or Country Director

Previous experience with SI would be likeable

Experience of team management Experience developing network

Technical skills and knowledge:

Coordination, and diplomatic skills Fundraising and donor’s requirement Proposal writing

Languages: English, knowledge of Ukrainian / Russian would be a strong asset.

Transferables skills:

Other desirable qualities: leadership and management / coordination with partners / planning and prioritization / flexibility / capacity to work under stress / solution making oriented / Team player

SI will offer you

A salaried post: According to experience, starting from 2 600 euros gross per month (+ 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem.

Starting from August 1st, 2023 onwards, the basic gross salary will be increased to 2800€/month as part of a review of the salary grid.

SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL also covers accommodation costs in the Guest House and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment.
Vacation: During the assignment, a system of alternation between work and time off is implemented at the rate of 7 working days every three months (with 700 euros allocated by SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL). To these break periods, one additional rest day per month worked are granted.
Social and medical cover: Expatriates benefit from an insurance package which reimburses all healthcare expenses (including medical and surgical expenses, dental care and ophthalmological expenses, repatriation) and a welfare system including war risks. Essential vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are refunded.
