Project Context and Scope
The project aims to enhance individual and communal mental health and psychosocial well-being by mitigating the negative psychological impacts of the conflict and support efforts to promote social cohesion, peace and recovery during the post-conflict period. In turn, a sense of hope, solidarity and mutual support within and between communities will be fostered, potentially leading to reduced tensions, violence prevention, a restored social fabric, and promotion of long-term stability.
Through the activities outlined in this project, IOM aims to prevent further distress and promote psychosocial well-being, while also advancing broader outcomes that support peace and community recovery, especially in post-conflict settings.

Organizational Department / Unit to which the Consultant is contributing
Protection Unit, MHPSS program Tasks to be performed under this contract ย
- Develop a MHPSS capacity building plan in close coordination with the MHPSS Program Managerย
- Conduct a MHPSS training needs assessment with different stakeholders to inform the content of the trainings
- Develop training tools and deliver trainings in the assigned MHPSS topics based on best evidence and practice and well accepted international MHPSS guidelines, including IOMโs manual on community based MHPSS in emergency and displacement settings in both Arabic and English
- Develop and administer pre and post assessment questionnaires, training evaluations and training reports based on the content of developed training curriculum and materials
- Develop and/or adapt MHPSS needs assessment tool relevant to the projectย
- Train data collectors and enumerators on the developed MHPSS needs assessment tool across Lebanon
- Support in the data collection and analysis of the needs assessment and developing a MHPSS needs assessment report in English and in Arabicย
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned ย Performance indicators for the evaluation of results ย

- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Psychology, Psychiatry, Sociology or any related fields Experience and Skills
- Minimum of 5 years working experience in MHPSS-related projects, community health, social science research
- Experience in integrating MHPSS within other sectors such as livelihoods, social stability, health and protection sectors
- Experience in coordination and the provision of community-based MHPSS approaches that are customized to address a range of vulnerabilities across diverse groups and are adapted to a specific context in place
- Has previous experience in developing, adapting, conducting context specific MHPSS needs assessments, including training enumerators on data collection
- Has previous experience in developing the content of and delivering MHPSS trainings and conducting research studies for international organizations
- Experience working with vulnerable groups in the past, including returnees, internally displaced persons, etc. will be an added advantage
- Excellent organizational skills and with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team Languages
