Purpose of Job

The Managing Director (MD), Risk Management, is a direct report of the Vice President, Chief Risk Officer (VP CRO) and is accountable for the maintenance and development of the Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework for the Bank. Pivotal to the delivery of the role is advising and recommending to the VP CRO, Executive Committee and the Board of Directors the Bankโ€™s Risk Appetite and ensuring that this appetite is respected through balanced decision making and effective controls. Though their leadership of a team of risk management professionals, the MD ensures implementation of the departmentโ€™s mandate, including external benchmarking, design and implementation of frameworks and standards, influencing stakeholders and exercising balanced commercial judgement around delegated authority.
