NIWLโ€™s portfolio includes projects in the college and career readiness, workforce development, education, justice, and research and evaluation areas. The Learning & Workforce Development Program Officer II will report to the Associate Director of Workforce Development and is expected to help coordinate and execute administrative and operational duties for the workforce portfolio, including the Department of Labor (DOL) and Department of Justice (DOJ) grants and the Youth Development Practitioner Apprenticeship projects, among others.

This position is fully remote and must be based out of the United States. Candidates who are able to work eastern time zone hours are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

Program & Project Management Support:

  • Works within the Learning & Workforce Development team to guide and effectuate implementation of NIWL programs.

  • Provides support for core project operations, such as setting up project workplans and timelines and monitoring grant deliverables and achievement of project performance objectives while adhering to scope and schedule requirements.

  • Collects, compiles, and analyzes information and local program reports; synthesizes existing information and data into an overarching summary of progress on key project activities.

  • Support youth engagement / direct-service programming and research best practices.

  • Leads logistics for internal and external events related to project and/or technical area as suggested by the associate director.

  • May serve as a mentor to other team members.

  • Schedule Quarterly Calls/Meetings with grantees at least a quarter in advance.

  • Develops and circulates agendas for internal and external meetings prior to the meetings, captures meeting attendance, takes meeting minutes and shares minutes following each meeting with key stakeholders; adds action steps to Workzone, as appropriate.

  • Maintain shared calendar of events for all workforce development projects on SharePoint/Outlook.

  • Facilitate member workshops as a growth opportunity when appropriate.

  • Provides support to project management on presentations, meetings, events.

  • Develops and maintain project SharePoint sites and Workzone workspaces.

  • Documents and compiles program tracking data, accomplishments, challenges, and lessons learned among internal and external partners.

  • Support Evaluation Coordination with sites, sending reminders and required templates as needed.

  • Share Data Sharing Agreements and Safeguarding materials with grantees; responsible for obtaining and filing signed consent forms.

    Collaboration/Communication:

    • Maintain professional standard of communication with colleagues, consultants, grantees, and beneficiaries.

    • Ensure work style contributes to team building and a professional environment where colleagues can work together productively.

    • Foster cross-team and cross-department communication.

    • Track and responds to general inquiries and correspondence.

    • Download all photos uploaded to the website each quarter or shared via email throughout the quarter and sort and manage on SharePoint.

    • Update the FHI 360 Connect / Vine, NIWL Resource Hub, Learning Management System, NIWL Central, and the Workforce Development & YDPA SharePoint sites, as needed.
