Job description

On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), the GIZ project \"Scaling Digital Agricultural Innovations through Start-ups\" (SAIS) supports African start-ups in the agricultural and food sector before and during the growth phase. The project aims to improve the investor readiness of the selected start-ups and to provide them with access to investments and business partners. In this way, the start-ups should be supported in scaling their innovations and thus reach a larger number of users. For the users, the innovation must have a positive income effect. The position's focus is to support portfolio start-ups by executing their development plan and raising funds.

Your tasks

Supporting the project lead (AV) in the technical, content-related and organisational implementation of the Investment Readiness Programme for Livestock TechStart-ups in Africa Contribute to the planning, management and monitoring of the start-up support measures and other ecosystem-building activities Support in project administration and implementation (travel planning, report writing, event organisation, marketing and research tasks) Participation in the conceptual design, in particular, the further development of co-financing with the BMGF Active participation in knowledge management within the SAIS Livestock Programme Preparation of technical and content-related contributions on overarching topics in the African AgTech start-up sector in cooperation with clients, partners and investors.

Your profile

University Degree in industrial engineering or another relevant subject area First professional experience in SAIS processes as well as experience with BMGF First professional experience working with start-ups in Africa, a focus on livestock start-ups Local experience in Africa with start-ups, investors, farmers and other players in the ag value chain First practical work experience in event organisation Good knowledge of the use of typical MS Office applications Business fluent language skills in German and English
